Computer-On-Modules (COMs) are highly integrated component SBCs that support system expansion and application-specific customisation. The CPU module delivers the core functionality while all of the application-specific features are designed into the baseboard creating a semi-custom embedded solution. There are several variations and footprints available with a wide range of CPU offering. 	ETX® modules are highly integrated, PC-compatible embedded modules. The modules are plugged onto an application-specific base board using high-density SMD connectors. The combination of a standardised CPU module and a baseboards designed for the application's specific requirements enables a flexible, configurable system platform with scalable CPU performance.
	COM Express™ is also plugged onto an application-specific base but this latest standard offers more options and a path to future CPU technologies. These boards come in a range of footprints, "nano" and "micro" with the latest low power and high performance CPUs. All follow the COM.0 pin-outs Type 1 and Type 2.
